My firstborn has turned 12!! Where have the years gone?? Twelve is a big year, especially at church, and so to see him leave Primary and embark into Young Men's has been crazy. He's doing so well, though, and is having a great time with a good group of friends. So, you might notice that it looks like some pretty slim pickin's in the present department for Spence. Well, that is because he has been saving up for an electric scooter. Every day this past year Spencer has either walked or ridden his scooter to school and back - and it's about a mile away, and is often very hot. So he got it in his head that he wanted an electric scooter to ride to school instead. So he saved his money, and even made a couple of phone calls to grandparents asking for money instead of gifts, until he finally had enough to make the purchase. I ordered the scooter online a few weeks earlier, because it was a good deal with free shipping, but we secretly had it put together and charged up for his birthday. We also gave him a watch and an iPod, so it was kind of a grown up kid birthday! He has loved that scooter, too, and has been riding it to school every day since! And Tyler has also jumped on the bandwagon and has saved for one himself! Bryan and I will occasionally head out for a neighborhood cruise on those things - for real - and they are pretty fun! Anyway, Spencer had a Heath Bar Trifle for his cake this year, and it was quite tasty. Happy Birthday SB Machine!!
