Tyler turns 13!
We officially have another teenager in the house! Tyler has hit the ripe old age of 13, and he continues to be the most awesome kid ever. He's fun, helpful, thoughtful, funny, hard working, and just so great to be around. This year for his birthday, he pooled together the money he got from us and grandparents, plus a little extra of his own, and he bought himself an X-Box. Although he really only has time to play it on Saturdays, it's all he wanted. And he's been pretty excited about it!
For Tyler's birthday party, he invited about 10 friends over for a Minute-To-Win-It party. They had so much fun!! It was a great group of boys, and they laughed and laughed at each other. And of course no party would be complete without the full tackle football in the backyard. Unfortunately for Tyler, this particular stint ended up with him in the ER with a possible broken arm. Thankfully it was just a bad sprain, and we were able to roll into bed a little after midnight. I refuse to let it dampen the memory of the party, though, because he had a really great time. Now it's just a funny story!

Ella's 10th Birthday
Ella Rose is 10!! She has blossomed into a beautiful, responsible, kind, and wonderful young lady. I just can't say enough good things about this girl. I'm so thankful to have her! This year for Ella's birthday we had the added bonus of having grandparents in town, and she was willing and happy to share her birthday with her brothers' opening night of Les Mis. We squeezed in her birthday dinner (pulled pork, corn casserole, and baked beans), presents, and donut cake before heading off the to the show. She was pretty excited about the new Vera Bradley bags that she got!
This year was a birthday party year, so we'd been busy planning our 3rd 10-year-old Backward's Party. It was just as big a hit for her group of friends as it was for the boys on their 10th birthdays! Some of the girls were a little bit more embarrassed about being dressed crazy than the boys' friends ever were, but they all had a great time playing the backwards party games, eating the inside-out hot dogs, and drinking 7-Down. We now have another double-digit in the house! Happy Birthday Ella!
