Spencer's 18th Birthday

Spencer is 18!!  A real live adult!!  For being the year of Spencer, his actual birthday celebration was pretty weak.  His presents consisted of chocolate milk, butterfingers, and pictures of the clothes and supplies he would be getting for his mission.  We celebrated his birthday up at the Lakehouse, with the boys going to conference, but his REAL party happened a few days later...with the opening of his mission call!!!  Happy Birthday, Spencer!!

Ruby's 9th birthday

It's always a long wait for Ruby to finally get to her birthday.  But the day finally arrived!  She had mini-puffy's for her birthday breakfast, and she asked for Stone Soup for her birthday dinner.  (How nice are the boys to still sit on the kitchen rug for the Stone Soup story??)  Ruby was having a Backwards Party this year (my 4th and last Backwards party!), and the preparations are always fun.  The upside down cupcakes, the inside-out hotdogs, the 7-Down, and the reversed ketchup and mustard are always hits.  As are the backwards names and backwards Happy Birthday singing.  We played all of the backwards party games - blindfolded Pictionary, Sardines, and Upside-Down faces.  The girls all had a blast - especially Ruby!  Happy Birthday, little Roo!!! 

Trek 2017

Bryan and I were asked to attend Trek again this year, and this time both Spencer and Tyler were old enough to go.  It is such an exhausting yet rewarding few days.  We dress in full pioneer clothes, eat pioneer era food (and not much of it), and we sleep on the ground under the stars.  It doesn't sound like much fun, but somehow it really is!  And being there with the boys made it just that much better.  Thanks for Vicki for taking great care of the girls while we were gone.  They had a fun Spring Break too!
