Another great summer in Idaho!

Another great year!!  We always have such a great time in Idaho, and I just love how these cousins are always up for anything.  The older kids went to an Escape Room this year (and made it out!), the younger kids took selfies and swam, and three of the moms even made it out for pedicures one night.  Until 2017!!

Cousin Cupcake War

The Carlsons, Evans, and Jensens had all been looking forward to competing in a Cousin Cupcake War this summer.  Due to a last minute flight change, Spencer and Tyler missed out on the Cupcake War, and they were actually quite bummed!  But the show must go on, so the judges prepared for a theme of "Cousin Week."  The teams had to use at least two or three ingredients from "Grandma's Pantry," and come up with three different and amazing cupcakes with the Cousin Week theme.  They had two hours!  It was so much fun to watch those teams work, and they made some incredible, from-scratch cupcakes, decorated to perfection.  We were so impressed!  Rather than have one team be crowned the winner, we created awards for different categories.  They also all earned the giant Yard of Twix, which they were pretty excited about.  Such creative and talented kids!

Haircuts and Fashion Show

The yearly haircuts had to find a new location this year, since our beloved 2-Be-A-Kid had closed up shop.  The girls didn't mind getting the deluxe treatment at the Two Rivers Spa in Eagle, and they all ended up with some cute haircuts.  (Some of which could have been done at home with my own scissors, but alas...)  We also took the kids on their annual school shopping trip.  After finding some adorable outfits, the Littles treated us to a fashion show, complete with background-catwalk music.  Their poses are just the greatest!  Charlotte has been trained well!

Dart Wars and Drive-ins

We had such a great time having an epic Nerf battle!  We went to a new place this year, called Nerf'd, and even the adults got in on the fun.  It was so much fun!!  Grandma even captured the flag one round for her team!  We also went to a Drive-in movie one night.  We'd been talking about trying it for years, and we finally did it.  The kids had a great time watching Ghostbusters in the back of cars and trucks.  I think the adults would have preferred the comfort of a movie theater seat (and a different movie!), or their beds! :)
