The Girls' Fashion Show

The girls were so excited to have a School Shopping day during our time in Idaho, and of course they were so disappointed that grandma and Mary weren't going to be able to be there with us. They were even more disappointed that they weren't there to see them model their finds! And the feeling was mutual, I assure you! Who wants to be stuck in the hospital in Utah when there are darling little girls modeling their new clothes!!! So we sent them a photo fashion show! The girls loved showing off their fun purchases, and even Carson struck a pose with his new shirt. And I would like the record to show that there was no prompting the pose that Ruby came up with. I just said, "Smile for the camera!" and this is what she did. Have you ever seen anything cuter???

Wahooz

Our trip to Wahooz this summer did not disappoint. The older kids and cousins just ran from go-carts to laser tag to arcade games to mini golf to bumper boats...and then right back again. We hardly even saw them! We did occasionally flag them down so that they could take the little kids on the go-carts or bumper boats, but for the most part they just entertained themselves. The younger crew stayed pretty happy on the indoor playground and in the arcade, with the occasional trip outside to golf or ride the go-carts and boats. With Mary not being there this year, Masen had to step it up! Not only did he hang with the boys all day and night, but he was also put to work carrying Ella around and playing with the little girls. He was a real trooper!

Hitting the Lanes

I find it very amusing that my kids go bowling exactly one time every year - in Idaho. Yes, of course there are bowling alley's in Texas, but it's just not something that's worked its way into our routine! But it is always on the yearly schedule of activities in Boise. The kids love going with their cousins, and they love the bowling for about 5 frames. The little kids, that is. After the first few frames the little kids disappear into the video games that are right behind us and we have to call them to come and bowl their turn. "Fine!!" they say. Little stinkers. The big kids bowl and bowl and have a blast. If one of the cousins really wants to be beloved, they will sneak quarters into their purse (Aubrey) or break out their allowance (Dallen) and buy everybody some candy from the candy machines, too!

Our Summer trip to Idaho

As always, we had a fantastic few weeks in Idaho this summer. Mary's accident put a major damper on the trip, since she and my mom weren't even home for the large majority of our time up there, but the kids just wouldn't let us sit around and mope. And of course my mom insisted that we press on and have fun without them. So we did our best! These are just a few fun shots of the kids with their cousins and grandparents. They always get plenty of love and attention!
