Spencer just competed in a speech competition through his school theater class. He had to compete in two different events. He decided on Duet Acting, in which he did a 5-10 minute scene with a friend of his, and Impromptu, where he had to argue his point of view on a particular topic for up to 5 minutes (given just one minute to prepare). He had practice before and after school for weeks in preparation for this competition, so it was a big time commitment. I was able to go and watch him compete, and boy was that entertaining! He and Eric did a great job on their Duet Acting scene, and they ended up winning a second place ribbon. He was so thrilled to have them call his name as a winner!!! The other highlight of the day was when his middle school was awarded the giant trophy as the first place school in the competition. It was a very exciting moment, and it was really fun to watch all these kids celebrate their victory. And Spencer was right in the middle of it! I was really proud of him for being brave enough to do this! Way to go Spence!

Cheerleaders!
We were able to watch Catlin and Colbie play soccer this summer, and it was so much fun to watch them!! The kids were quite the cheerleaders, cheering "Go Catlin Go!" over and over and over. We also got to watch Dallen test for a new belt level. The kids were quite impressed as he easily split a wooden board in half. Impressive! Nice job cousins!!
Zoo Boise
Another year, another trip to the Boise Zoo! Even the big kids had fun...because everything's more fun with cousins!!
The Discovery Center
Here are some fun pictures from The Discovery Center in Boise. The kids always love this place! (Whereas, Bryan was relieved that his visit to Boise did not include this event this summer!) :)

Make-up and Baseball
We had a fun night at the Boise Hawks game this summer, even in the sweet nose bleed seats that we had! The hotdogs, popcorn, and ice cream sandwiches were as much of a draw as the game, and the highlight for the girls was probably the face painting. And speaking of face painting, Ella, Ruby, and Aubrey were on a real make-up kick this summer. They each bought some new make-up for themselves on the Girl's Night Out, and boy did they have a fun time playing with it!! It's hard to tell in these pictures, but their faces are covered in sparkly lip gloss. And both Ella and Ruby got a little carried away with the make-up at one time or another. I hope Ella forgives me for including this picture of her, but I just had to. She had just bought the new make-up, and refused to listen to her mother and wait until she got home to try it out. So when we arrived at my mom's house, and she saw herself in the mirror, she didn't look quite as she had hoped!! Poor Peanut. :)
Girl's Night Out
We had another Girl's Night Out this summer, complete with the trip to the the Kid's Spa for the girl's hair and nails. Aren't they adorable??? We headed to the mall afterward for a little bit of shopping, followed by dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It was a great night, that the girls always look forward to!!
