We have bought a new house! A Lakehouse. And we love it!! Here's how it all came to pass - in condensed form. Some good friends of ours announced they were moving to Florida. These same friends bought a house at Canyon Lake, to use as a second/vacation home, about a year earlier. As Bryan's parents were here over Christmas, the topic of our friends moving came up, and I threw out the question, "Wouldn't it be fun to buy their lakehouse together??" Well, that was the end of it, my friends. Before the week was up, we'd talked to our friends, gone to look at their house, gone to look at several other houses, and ultimately decided that their house was THE house. It took another couple of weeks to work out all the details of buying a home, and before we knew it we had signed a contract on the house AND boat! Why not buy both, right?? We split the cost with Bryan's parents, and we will share the house. When they come to visit Texas, they will have a place of their own to stay, and they are hoping to be able to spend a few months out of the year down here in the near future. We will love using the house as a nice getaway and as a fun place to spend time as a family and with friends. We are so excited about it!!! You may have noticed that we were not in our regular house in all of our Easter and Spencer birthday pictures - but we were actually spending our first weekend up at the Lakehouse. Bryan and I had spent the previous weeks shopping and shopping and shopping, so that we would have all the essentials of home up there. We were so happy to be able to get moved in and partially decorated, so that we could spend Easter weekend up there with the kids. We had such a great time. The boys helped Bryan with some yard work, we played lots of ping-pong, croquet, and bocci ball, and we made some great new traditions and memories. We are so excited about having this house in our family for many, many years to come!
