On Day 3 we headed to El Yunque National Rainforest. It was so pretty, and such a fun hike. We leisurely hiked to a couple of waterfalls, had a picnic lunch in the car (it rains several times a day in the rainforest!), and then Bryan and I took off for the peak. We ended up hiking 5-6 miles that day, and it was just fun and enjoyable. The views were interesting, because the top of rainforest is in the clouds almost all the time. It was hard to tell how high up we were because the vegetation was so dense and the clouds were surrounding us, but when we caught a glimpse of another peak across from us we realized that we were way up there! We ate our favorite meal of trip for dinner that night, at Don Pepe's. We had chicken, steak, mofungo, and fried plantains, and we left the restaurant happy. And we had ice cream waiting for us back in our room!
