The Polar Express
We couldn't believe it when we heard that the Polar Express was going to be departing from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, headed for the North Pole, on the day after Thanksgiving! The entire family (yes, all 29 of us) booked tickets on the train as soon as we heard the news! The hour and a half ride on the train to the North Pole flew by in a flash, with all the cousins and snacks, and the surprise visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus during the ride. The kids each had a chance to talk it up with Santa - Spencer talked his ear off - but some of the kids were unprepared with their lists! At least they had the rest of the ride to think it over until they got to sit on his lap. It was pretty strange that it hadn't snowed in the North Pole yet this year, but it was still plenty chilly! So chilly, in fact, that we were all glad to get back on the Polar Express to the hot chocolate on our ride home. It was quite a fun trip!
