Enchanted Rock

For the past two years we have gone camping at Enchanted Rock over Columbus Day weekend. It is the perfect time of year for camping in Texas, and it's a really fun spot. This year it rained all weekend. As much as we needed rain, I couldn't believe that it rained on the one weekend all Fall that we can go camping (because of sports)! We actually packed up, hoping that the rain wouldn't come, but it just rained and rained. And rained! And it was not forecast to stop. Deflated, we gave up, unpacked, and discussed what else we could do. While Ruby was napping, Bryan and I also closed our eyes for an hour or so, deciding that we'd plan something when we woke up. Would you believe that when we woke up, the rain had stopped, the storm had completely moved past us, and the sun was shining. We couldn't believe it! We rounded up the kids, packed up the car, and hit the road! It was so exciting. We ended up having a wonderful time camping and hiking, and we plan on doing it again next year!
