Even though our summer was amazing, it's always kind of exciting to go back to school. The anticipation of new classes, new teachers, and new friends is fun! This excitement and anticipation lasts about two days, in my experience. By Friday of that first week of school, we're all exhausted and wishing it was summer vacation again! Ruby and Ella, in 1st grade and 4th grade, loved their new teachers and had friends in their classes. But 6:15am comes really early each day! The boys, Tyler in 7th grade and Spencer in 10th, started the week off with everyday football practices for Tyler and choir rehearsals for Spencer. And 5:20 wake-ups for Spencer and 6:15 for Tyler are pretty brutal! So our annual Labor Day trip to Galveston is always at the perfect time. We enjoy sleeping in, playing at the beach, eating out, going to the candy shop, and just relaxing and spending time together. It helps us to gear back up for the realities of school!
