Date Nights and Family Fun

We kicked off the summer with a couple of big date nights.  First, we had Bryan's latest class graduation, and then Bryan and I went to see Jerry Seinfeld up in Austin, and it was so awesome!  Of course we've always loved him, and he was even better live.  Then came the official start of summer - Memorial Day!  We planned a fun BBQ weekend up at Canyon Lake.  Our family went up to spend the whole weekend, and then we had a big invitation to a bunch of friends to join us on Memorial Day for boating and BBQing.  Such a great plan, right?  Well, after a year of drought, the skies decided to make up for it all in one day.  The craziest thunderstorms all night and all morning on Memorial Day.  A few friends called to bow out, understandably, but the real diehards came anyway.  All along I had faith that it would pass, and it did!   After our BBQ lunch, the sun came out and we headed to the lake.  Bryan took the boat out, with the older teenage crowd, and the rest of us kayaked and played at the boat ramp.  It ended up being a really fun day!
