Day 2: Roos n' More

Monday - The little kids got up very early again on Monday morning. Blake and the boys arrived on Sunday morning, so there were 6 kids sleeping in that little room (with three different time zones ruling their body clocks!).  So more early morning fun was had by all (well, not in my condo!).  :)

After a fun morning of playing, we headed to Roos n' More!  It's this little zoo about an hour outside of St. George.....it's not really a "zoo" because they're only open to the public 3-4 days a month.  But we booked a private tour for our group, and so were the only people there that day.  It was so cool....very hands-on!!  We all took a million pictures!  Stephanie put some of them into collages so it wouldn't take up 30 pages in our books....

First up was the lemur.  This little guy let everybody hold him. He just jumped from person to person and ran across everyone's backs.  Charlotte wanted NOTHING to do with him (and I can't say I really blame her.....I was also backing out of the way as he came jumping towards me....)  But everyone else seemed to like it!

Next up, the kookaburra!  This bird made such a funny sound and was so loud!  And also, some great pictures of kids holding the python.  And for some unknown reason, I decided that challenging my deepest fears was going to be a theme of this trip for me...so I started by holding the giant snake!   

 

The camels!!  Lots of brave souls fed the camels right out of their mouths, including me! Ella and Ruby said "no thanks!" 

Next we went into the kangaroo enclosure.  There were a ton of kangaroos just hopping around everywhere!  We even got to feel the inside of one of the mama's pouches.  It felt extremely weird!  Did you know that they are water tight?? 

Then back inside to see the parrots, the lynx, and the TINY turtles.  Cute!

And last, they brought out the tiniest, cutest little Capuchin monkey ever!  He didn't want anyone to hold him, but let all the kids take turns petting and feeding him.

There were lots of other animals too.  It was a super fun day!  Glad we made the drive.  

The plan for dinner that night was to BBQ over at my mom and Randy's condo.  Their place had BBQ pits, a heated pool and hot tub, and an indoor game room (pool, mini golf, ping pong, etc.).  The outdoor BBQ was a little chilly, but the crazy kids (and a couple adults) decided swimming and hot tubbing sounded like fun!
