First Day of School!

Summer had ended, school had arrived.  It was a sad, yet exciting day.  Ruby was starting Kindergarten.  My baby!!!  How did the time fly so fast??  But, alas, it was here.  Ruby and Ella wore their adorable matching shirts to school on the first day, along with their florescent clodhopper tennis shoes (that they picked out and that match none of their clothes!).  They love those shoes, though, and were excited to get to school.  They allowed Kindergarten parents to come and bid their cuties goodbye, and I was not surprised to see that Ruby was right at home in that classroom.  I knew she'd have a great year!  Ella was also excited about starting 3rd grade, and her best little friend Audrey was in her class as an added bonus.  Bryan had to get Spencer and Tyler out the door while I was with Ruby, and they both looked studly and excited as they headed out the door.  Tyler was starting 6th grade, in middle school.  He was thrilled to be able to ride his bike to school this year, and he met his buddy Ryan at the corner and off they rode.  As you can see, it is a hot ride home in the afternoon (in 100 degree temps!), and he is covered in sweat when he arrives home.  Spencer started high school this year, in 9th grade.  He rode the bus on that first morning, and whenever he doesn't need to be there early for ROTC, choir, or tutoring, he rides it.  It's not that often, and my job as family taxi driver is in full force this year.  Before starting high school, however, it was time for him to start shaving.  His peach fuzz chin hair was growing, and so it was time for shaving lessons.  He's been doing pretty well - but he does cut himself every time! :)  It's so hard to believe that the kids are getting so old.  It has been quite an adjustment for me, having all my chicks out of the nest, and high school has been a whole new world.  Can't it just be summer vacation again???
