The Boise Zoo

We headed to the Boise Zoo again this summer, only this time we managed to rope 25 family members into joining us! In the words of my sister Stephanie, "We took the zoo to see the animals." Quite a clever girl, that Steve! So anyway, the Boise zoo is a smallish zoo, but it was just the right size. And since my kids go there every summer on our Boise trip, it has all sorts of nostalgia. "Look! The giraffe slide! The screaming monkeys!" Those types of things. This year, however, we were one of the first 50 people in the zoo and so we were able to pay to feed the giraffes! Those tongues are seriously long! Spencer, Tyler, and Ruby all fed them. Ruby didn't quite know what she was getting herself into, but she did it! Afterward she kept saying, "He ate my hand!" She thought it was quite crazy to have a giraffe lick her hand. Ella said, uh...no thanks.

Ruby and Ella enjoyed petting the turtle.

And the giraffe slide, of course.

Sitting and posing on the pretend animals.

Ella and Aubrey held hands the entire day through the zoo. They were pretty cute.

It was a little crazy when we saw them holding hands on the zoo carousel! That couldn't have been easy, with each of them going up and down at opposite times. But they managed!

Tyler was a real sport to sit in the non-moving sleigh with Ruby. As you can see, she loved that carousel! Traditionally this has not been part of our Boise Zoo experience, due to my cheapness, but I was conned into it this year. It will be hard to go back now, I'm afraid!
Until next time...goodbye Boise Zoo!!
