Spencer's Spring Events

Spencer has had a busy Spring!  He camped and backpacked a few times with the Scouts, and even lost his pants one time (and had to hike in pajama pants the next morning!). We're not sure how that happened.  Good times with his buddies!  Next up came the school Speech and Theater contest, where Spencer competed in the Duet Acting and the Prose portions.  We were very proud of all his hard work!  He was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this Spring.  One very exciting thing for Spencer this Spring was being in the school play.  It was the first time he auditioned for a part, and he played a pirate named Arthur.  He had a great time, despite the very long days of rehearsals.  He didn't get home until almost 6pm most nights from school!  It was a busy few weeks, but he did a great job and had a good time.  He especially liked having the girls put make up on him!  :) Spencer also auditioned for the school Variety Show again this year, although he had to suffer through another upset in not being selected.  He did such an awesome job, though, playing "The Final Countdown" on the piano, and he was definitely robbed!!!  Next up came his Spring Choir Concert.  It was a really fun concert!  The Boy's Choir sang one traditional song, and then surprised everybody with two fun songs, complete with actions.  At first everybody laughed at the big, tough middle school boys snapping and swaying, but they put a lot of funny twists into "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "Forget You."  When they finished, the crowd went wild!  Especially the Girl's Choir.  So that does a lot for the confidence!  :)
