A Few Winter Happenings

Is Ruby just the most adorable cowgirl you've ever seen???  She celebrated "Rodeo Day" at her pre-school this winter, and she was just a doll.  One of these years we'll make it to the actual San Antonio rodeo, but until then we'll just be glad that the schools celebrate it.  :) We did have one "first" this year, however, and that is Monster Jam.  (Picture the loud, deep radio voice...Monster Jam!!!)  Anyway, it was just as dorky as you can imagine, but the boys had the time of their life.  Bryan took them down, thanks to tickets from Santa, and they marveled at the car-jumping, car-smashing glory that is Monster Jam.  They laughed and mocked the astonishingly lame Robosaurus, and we still have some good laughs whenever we talk about him.   Spencer also competed in a choir competition this winter, and he sounded amazing.  One of the things they had to do in this competition was a sight reading piece.  They had 6 minutes to look over a brand new piece of music, without ever having heard it played on the piano, and then perform it without accompaniment.  I was completely amazed at what he has learned this past year!  Wow.  Rounding out the last of this random winter events post is Superbowl Sunday.  We went to a friend's house to watch the big game (yes, Bryan and I had to look up to see who was in the game), and I made these cute little football cupcakes.  They were a big hit (except for the one little girl who was poisoned by the chocolate covered almond on the top...oops!), and the kids had a great time watching the game.
